Canon Announces the EOS C500 Mark II

Canon has announced the full-frame EOS C500 Mark II, with estimated availability in December of this year! Check out these specs:

  • Dual Pixel CMOS AF with Touch AF and Face Detection AF
  • Rear audio/power module
  • Internal ND filters (clear, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 stop – 8 & 10 with extension)

What’s really cool about this release is what differentiates the EOS C500 Mark II from the EOS C700. The C500 has Digic DV 7 processors, allowing the sensor to operate in three different modes: 

  • Full-frame
  • Super 35mm (crop)
  • Super 16mm (crop)

Another feature that is getting us excited is the 5-axis sensor stabilization, a first for this technology to be used in a digital camera.

What else do these new features mean? It can automatically obtain focal length with lenses that support data transmission. The Electronic IS can still work with non-electrical contact lenses by allowing for manual input of focal length. The Electronic IS also saves focal length.
