Coming Soon: Astera Titan Tubes

September 26, 2018

This month we will be getting in the newest innovation in LED tube lighting. In addition to our growing supply of Quasar Science bicolor and RGB tubes, we will now be supplementing our Astera AX1 kits with the new Astera Titan Tubes.

Designed to integrate with the existing AX1 system and controllable via the same Asterabox, App, and remote, the Titan Tubes bring double the output of the AX1 with increased color correctness more on par for what is expected of LED fixtures for film and television. In lieu of the RGBW LED chips, the Titan Tubes include RGB + Mint and Amber chips to produce a wider spectrum of color correct light. They include a heavier duty battery and a boost mode to allow you to get extended output for a period of time.

In addition to the added intensity and battery life, the new tubes include an on board display on the back of the tube so you aren’t blinded when making manual adjustments to the fixture (take note – Quasar Science). This is a great feature as you won’t always be bound to the app when you need to use the fixtures in more simple scenarios.

Last but not least, Astera built these with the already vast number of AX1’s on the market in mind. The Titan Tubes will have a software adjustment that basically dumbs them down to match the output and color of their older counterparts making for an easy mix between sets both old and new. We’ve seen jobs up to 75 tubes this year so this will be a great feature when trying to source large quantities of tubes for the same job.

These lights are poised to be a great bridge between the convenience of the AX1 tubes and the output/quality of the RGBX Quasars. Look out for them to arrive in October to the shop and stop by for a demo!
