When Tires Season 2 hit Netflix in June of 2025, it put the Greater Philadelphia region’s film community in the spotlight. The comedy series, starring Shane Gillis, was filmed throughout the surrounding area — highlighting the depth, talent, and collaboration of the local crew and production partners behind the scenes.

A Growing Hub for Film Production

In recent years, the Greater Philadelphia region has quietly become one of the most efficient and versatile areas for film and television production. Between its adaptable architecture, skilled workforce, and strong network of rental and post-production resources, it offers big-budget capabilities without the logistical overload of larger markets.

As a result, productions like Tires benefit from faster turnarounds, tighter crews, and the kind of collaboration that only happens when teams are built from people who already know each other’s rhythm.

Supporting the Production from the Ground Up

Expressway supplied all Grip & Electric and camera rentals for Tires Season 2. This helped equip a production that brought together familiar faces from the regional crew network.

Shot on ARRI Alexa 35s paired with Angenieux Optimo Zooms, the show is another reminder that top-tier productions can — and do — come to life through strong regional collaboration.

Many of the crew members on Tires are regulars in our shop. They’re the same people who come in to prep gear, share stories, and refine their craft.

Because of this, one of the most underrated advantages of filming locally becomes clear: access to a trusted network that’s built over time, not just assembled for a single shoot.

Why Local Partnerships Matter

Local vendors and crews don’t just provide convenience — they create continuity.

When your rental house, G&E team, and operators already have years of shared experience, efficiency follows naturally. It means fewer surprises on set, smoother communication, and faster solutions when challenges pop up.

That’s why more streaming and commercial productions are increasingly looking toward strong regional markets. The results speak for themselves.

Keeping Local Productions Rolling

We’re proud to keep powering productions like Tires — one rental, one prep, and one local crew at a time.

As the region continues to grow as a filmmaking hub, Expressway remains committed to supporting productions of every size. We do so with the same care, reliability, and collaboration that make local production communities thrive.
