Teradek has just released a line of module attachments that mounts directly to the back of the Sony Venice and provides wireless video transmission capabilities for their 3rd generation of Teradek systems. Features are very similar to the Bolt standalone transmitters, like the ability to cast to four receivers or the spectrum analyzer and LUT engine. They are available in 500, 1000, or 3000 versions shipping now. The module uses Venice’s 144 Pin connection on the back to do away with the need for external cabling to get power / video / audio signal, allowing for a clean and clutter free build.
Although, it’s not a surprise, we are excited to see the Teradek / SmallHD duo pushing hard for integration and are doing a great job of creating streamlined tools to make AC’s jobs easier. However, it would be great to see a unit that can transmit to all ranges rather than having to own a specific module for each range offering from 3rd Gen receivers. It would be interesting if they made a transmitter version of the Sidekick that could play with any receiver, but only to a certain capped range.
